Hello, myLotters ! Took a photo of the hand where they had an i.v., as the four incisions in my stomach where they did the gall bladder surgery are pretty ugly. Today I spoke to the surgeon and got some instructions. He said I could go home around six, but of course, it didn't happen until an hour or so later, then I was supposed to pick up some pain medicine at the pharmacy, but when I was taken down to the pharmacy they didn't have anything, so the meds I need must be at the Health Center pharmacy. I'll have to call them tomorrow. My doctor's spoken instructions to me were to do a lot of walking and eat healthy. Evidently the walking will help the pain from the incisions. I called a man from church, who was one of the folks who came by to visit me today, and had said he'd come get me when the hospital discharged me. He brought me home, and at first I realized I didn't have a key to the deadbolt, which is the one that I've had to lock lately, and so I called my brother, and he said that there was a key under the front mat, as one of my co workers had come over and done some cleaning in the house while I was gone. One of the instructions I was given by the surgeon was to stay home for a week from work, so tomorrow I'll call and explain that to my boss. Another thing that I have to do is go over to the pharmacy at the Health Center and get some medication that I was prescribed--presumably for post-surgery pain. Right now, I am going to go and get into something more comfortable. Hope you have all had a wonderful day/evening/etc. in your part of myLot land !

See? That surgery wasn't so scary. The incisions will heal fast. Mine did. A couple of tylenol or whatever was prescribed for pain and you'll be all fixed up. Happy to hear that it was successful.

Never thought it would be scary, but thank you. Thankfully even if I had, all of the doctors and nurses were great. Yeah, I'll have to see exactly what was prescribed--on the way out of the hospital they told me to pick up my prescription, then when I got there I was told that there was nothing there.

Wish you had the pain meds tonight. They would help you sleep.

@xstitcher ~I can relate to your title, it only hurts when I laugh. I had a really bad chest cold and it hurt when I laughed. I was watching TV and laughing alot! I guess it's the same kind of thing, like when people only pat you on the back when your back is sunburnt.

You are like my mother, if she laughs she experiences pain in her ribs and feels her stomach being stabbed by a knife. Because before surgery she has problems with appetite and stomach ulcers and it has been around for 3 years.

@xstitcher You only need enough rest to be able to recover conditions quickly.

I have had three or four surgeries in the past as well, but when I was a child. Thank you for the idea--I was actually thinking of making myself a fruit smoothie this morning for breakfast.

Get well soon. Take care not to strain yourself. Take enough rest to allow the body to heal itself and come back to its rhythm.
