We have had days of very hot and humid weather. It has been over 90s for several days. We were out this afternoon picking up our grandson Josh at school to take him to his new job when the weather started to change.
It was in the high 90s when we picked him up. We went out to lunch after we dropped him off and the sky was getting darker all the time. As I drove home, the temperature dropped right before my eyes from 99 to 92, then to 87 and 85, 82, 78, 76 when the rain finally hit us, it was 75 degrees. By the time we pulled into our driveway, the thunder and lightning had arrived and we could feel the oppressive weather breaking.
Here it is 3 hours later and the thunder is still rolling out there and it looks as black as night even though it isn't even 7 p.m. We are now supposed to have several days of cool weather, halleluia.

We have a storm like that as well today Belle, I went to Walmart and parked in the garage, it was still 91 and as soon as I came in the sky opened up and it dumped the rain down. Its still in the 80s now but the sky is clearing, however, with the humidity it might as well be 100 out there.

@BelleStarr The best storms to watch come from those. I can sit on the front porch and not worry about getting damp and just let nature soothe me.

Thunder doesn't bother me but the lightning is worrisome since we have lots of very tall trees,

We had rain over night last night, but no thunder.
It was much nicer today as a result of the cool front that came in, and I hope that you enjoy the pleasant change of weather tomorrow.
This weekend we are supposed to get the tail end of the Gordon storm, with cooler days and rain.

Oh yes, it was pretty dramatic when it hit here it was about 3:30. I just hope the cool sticks around a little.

well good for you being glad of it. here it has rained at least once in that same manner every day for 2 weeks but then gets terribly hot again right away when it stops

@BelleStarr well guess you are happy. me..not so much. it's raining too much again and now i am worried over hurricanes again. i really think one is going to wipe us out instead of my health killing me first

That pretty much sums up the end of our day yesterday. It was very humid and in the nineties. I didn't wear the right shirt as I thought it was already going to be cooler yesterday. At least I didn't wear long sleeves. The homeowner had her air on but when I had to redo windows outside it was almost unbearable.
I have my sweats and a sweat shirt on for the night because my hubby may still be hot and I'll be cold with the fan running.
We had ran almost every day this week and last but it only made things hotter. We'll get a small break for a few days from the rain and maybe some more painting in.

@BelleStarr We had two heavy showers today, but it didn't help with the heat. The pavement was steaming in our parking lot after the rain.
