Dollar Tree Dinners #1

All this week my dinner will be made by ingredients purchased at Dollar Tree. This is to document that you CAN make actual meals by shopping at the dollar stores. I am not claiming that all of this food is "high quality", but it's not horrible and it's food.
Today being Sunday is day one of this little experiment, and tonight I had:
A three-ounce "steak". I have had these before they are really good in sandwiches or in a stir-fry. Tonight I cooked it in a skillet with butter, garlic salt, and onion powder.
On the side, I had smashed potatoes made with half a can of whole potatoes, cheese and butter. I used rosemary and garlic salt as seasoning.
I also had a veggie. Tonight it was peas, with a little salt and butter.
Dinner cost probably between $2.50 and $2.75.
I don't know if the picture will load, sometimes they do and sometimes they don't.

Your dinner looks very yummy. I had porkchops baked potatoes and a salad.

I think I might do pork chops tomorrow. Depends on what I pick up from work or if I just make something that I already have here..

That iis interesting.Not all of Dollar tree stuff is cheaper because some are in small packages specially made to sell for a dollar.

@Luap1050 I don't know what Dollar General has because they aren't affiliated with us. Well that and I don't shop there, because the manager at the one in the town I work in is not a nice person. I'm not sure if Family dollar carries them or not.
