Tomorrow is Monday and since I had today off, it actually feels like a Monday. Which is not always the case since I work in retail. Now don't get me wrong, the majority of the time I love my job and my co workers. However Monday feels have sunk in a little bit. That might be because I have to be at the store at six am for the freight truck. One of employees is leaving in just over two weeks to have surgery on one hand and then on the other. She hasn't really decided if she is coming back our not. She always works the trucks, but when she leaves I will take over Monday morning trucks and probably the frozen food trucks in the afternoons as well. Hopefully this means more hours. That would be nice. This week and next week we are down one of the other truck unloader peeps is our because he is having surgery. So I'm filling in for him. Of course we are also heading Into holidays so hours are probably going to start getting crazy. So here's to hopefully better checks and crazy work hours where I come home disgusted with Christmas decorations and covered with glitter. Sorry if this post is babbly and all over the place, I've gotten distracted about sixteen times, and I'm writing it on my Kindle.

Are you the only one unloading the trucks when they come in or someone in the back helping you?

Nah, we have a truck team. I'm not sure who will be there. There are two just freight workers. Me and the woman who will have surgery soon do cashier and freight, and then one , sometimes two managers are present.

@thislittlepennyearns Ah okay, I wasn't sure how it worked at a smaller store. I know when I worked for DG, there were two people employed to just stock but they weren't there on the same days. When I worked for the grocery store, I would go in and unload the truck and stock. People would trickle in and help me break it down, but they usually showed up about three hours after me.

@ScribbledAdNauseum our store is actually pretty big, bigger than two if the three stores of ours that I've worked in. Our trucks are about 1700-1900 cases right now. Although with Christmas candy coming they are going to get bigger for a few montbs

Sounds like my days when I manages a 10,000 sq ft dollar store wondering how - and who I was gonna get to get everything out of the back and on the shelves every day . It did keep me fit though ....when I started there I was 190 lbs and when I left 165 ...lol .....I drove an hour to make sure I was there for the truck every weekday !
