Do you have a dream ? Whenever someone asks me that question i just don't know what to say. I've seen poor people living happily and i've seen wealthy people having miserable life. I've had little dreams, and whenever one of them come true, it only makes le happy for like a day or two. What should i be aiming for ?

Happiness comes from contentment. If you are satisfied with whatever you have in life you stay happy.

Perpetual happiness is nonsense. If it existed, you wouldn't notice it any more. You notice happy moments because they are not the norm but the exception. You can enjoy them because of their rarity. I've noticed an idiotic trend on internet writing sites to talk about happiness all the time. Try to lead a life which makes you content. Don't compare yourself with others. Don't feel under pressure. Find out what is right for you.

@TheHorse I can't hear the word 'happiness' any more! The American Constitution is responsible for a lot of nonsense in this field I'm afraid.

@MALUSE I could depend on how one defines happiness. I include quiet contentment under the "happiness" heading now. And how many people have read the Constitution?

I agree. We appreciate happiness in part because sad times are inevitable, and a part of life. I think working toward achievable goals helps bring contentment.

Happiness is not measured by material things, it is our attitude about life which plays the most important role in being happy...

Aim for love that's where true happiness lies. It can be your parents, friends, relatives or boyfriend. Just spend good times with them that's where true happiness lies in.

@BabeSays Explain. I think self-love, which leads to acceptance of self and others, is more important than having a "partner."

You can't be happy all the times. Otherwise you'll get bored very soon.

If you are content with life, then that is extremely good. Buddha had to travel very very far to get to that. Me, I think right now, I just need to a few days to sleep, sleep, and more sleep, then I will be good (a few good books in between would be better ).

As long as a person is content with what they have, I am pretty sure they will be happy ALL THE TIME. You can explore your surrounding and perhaps you can find that you might be passionate about something. Go to a museum, a fashion show, a theater, a cooking class, a painting class or volunteer, perhaps oyu will discover that you want to be an artist or a chef or a painter, who knows ! Good Luck :-)
