Another Technician Today

Well, I do not know why but lately we have had many technicians coming to our house to fix this or that. Today, it was our central vac that needed some attention. The guy was very nice and fixed the problem but I sure do not like to part with my money constantly for repairs. At least, I will be able to do some better vacuum tomorrow. Not today as I feel so stiff. Any repairs at your house lately?

I have repairs that need to be made, but my apartment management have no interest in fixing them.

@AmbiePam, Is there some kind of "board" that you can go and complaint to?

@marlina They usually call the apartment complex, ask if they know about it, and if they say yes, they let it go. They just make sure they know about it, but don't make them fix it. It's kind of deflating.

We had a landscape guy come out. He gave us an estimate on how much for lawn care. He called us the day he was to come out because his truck had broken down. The neighbor came around to tend to it for us. I am knocking on wood, we've not had any repairs necessary.

@marlina Not sure. So, the neighbor's grandson was the one doing the mowing for us. He moved away and his cousin (we think it's his cousin) started mowing for us. That cousin isn't as punctual. So we may end up going with the landscaping company.

They're laying new carpeting in the hallways. They were at it all day yesterday, and they started in again a couple hours ago.

@marlina It's a standard blue/gray carpet. It's okay. I have no say in the matter, so whether I like it or not doesn't matter. The carpeting is in the hallways leading to the apartments and the stairs to the upper floor and the hallway there as well. I hope they're finished with all their pounding. I never realized laying carpet was so noisy.

Isn't that old saying true, "when one thing goes down, several more will follow" when it rains it pours. I sure hope you get a break from any more repairs for a while

@marlina That was bad, I feel for the people that live on the coast, I couldn't imagine what it would be like to live with Hurricanes.

That's frustrating. We had to get a new central A/C and furnace the same year.

I now what you mean. I had a light come on in my car a few days ago. And it wasn't a big deal for me because my husband just drove it while I drove his. But I don't like driving his vehicle, so I got a diagnostic on it yesterday. Yikes!!! Apparently the turbo is over charging and that is quite expensive to repair. And my husband is all for getting it fixed ASAP, but the technician cleared the code and advised me how to drive it so that it won't come on again. I could go against his advise and have it come on so that my husband can shell out the big bucks to get it fixed, but I'd like to keep going steady with that money for a little longer before that happens.

Thankfully nothing at my house needs fixing because I spent enough money this month on the car repairs and a dental visit.

It seems to be feast or famine with repairs. We've been lucky not to have needed any - knock on wood.

My father's chair need some sort of bolts to get it fixed, it is being delayed because of rains or the carpenter has been busy. Hopefully by next week it will be done
