Walking by the Creek

It was a little cooler today and I took a long walk down by the creek and all over the complex. I stopped by the muscadine vines on the way to the creek and picked up a pocketful of muscadines. if you've never tasted them, muscadines look like red grapes but they have their own flavor. They taste like red grape wine, and I like red grape wine.
The creek was a little low and I don't know why, we've had extra rain all summer. I went by the mail box on the way back and brought home an arm load of mail. Mostly ads but my better half did have a check in the mail.
Our young friend Randy came by the apartment looking for book covers. I gave him a couple of books and he plans to bring his books and let me see how he did it. I didn't understand how he would take out the inside pages and use the hard covers to make his books.
But now I'm closing up shop. I'm going to bed early and read awhile. I hope that will help me get to sleep. Everyone sleep well.

@RubyHawk Almost all the wineries in Florida who grow their own grapes use muscadines. San Sebastian Winery in St. Augustine, and Lakeridge Winery in central Florida use muscadines.

@RubyHawk I don't think enough people know what muscadine grapes are. There would have to be a heavy marketing campaign to educate people.

@ridingbet I don't believe there are fish big enough to bite a hook. I think they swim down stream to the river while they are still small. I've never seen more than a small minnow.

It looks like a nice place to walk at, look at the trees, the river, I wish to have a walk there, maybe put my feet in the water if it's all right and not risky, walking bare foot in water, or even contaminated water can have parasites that can go through our skin.
I wonder what books your friend came to wrap. Did he write the books or did he buy them wrapless ? (maybe printed them with the printer ?)

@RubyHawk So you write poetry ? :-)
I would like to read some from you, as you like listening to the water flow, you have a good taste in music and maybe you write poetry about the nature, the good things, I must read :-)

Our creek water isn't contaminated it comes from a fresh weather spring. Randy brought a book of pages he had put together but he didn't have a hard cover on it. He gave it to me to use as a journal or for poetry. I'd still like to see his hard cover book but he hasn't brought one yet.

@stringer321 It’s just a hobby and relaxing. Writing gives you time to think. Do you write?

I was going to walk Angel to the park "on Saturday" but I woke up thinking it was Friday and by the time I realized it wasn't it was too late to go.

@xstitcher I can imagine, I had a serious surgery two years ago and it took me a whole year to recover and get my head on straight.

I hope you enjoy your rest.
I wonder if Randy will take a razor and cut the pages from the book that way?

@RubyHawk Oh okay. I mean, I guess he has to be using a fine blade of some sort to do it. Atleast towards the end to scrape the pages and glue from the book.

@ScribbledAdNauseum After He glues in the pages he must cover the book cover. I haven’t seen one yet.

A lovely photo seems so peaceful by the creek. I used to enjoy quiet walks by creeks in Latvia. Here in Florida, I have only the choice of the ocean and the river. Hope you enjoy your evening and sweet dreams.

I only got a handful of muscadines from my vine this year, my sister picked a walmart bag full, I might make jelly.
