I'm thinking to make my room sound proof but I'm not quite sure if it is a good decision or not, I'm teaching on a room and I know everyone can hear me outside my room, so I'm planning to make my room sound proof but I don't have idea or any experience in doing soundproof room, does anyone here have experience?

The best thing is to consult the professionals. Somewhat I've heard that egg cases is a good kind to sound proof.

You are teaching in a room. Go to Handyman, Ace, Wilcon or any DIY shops and ask for their sound proofing materials because they are selling those.

@tech40 You can go do those stores and ask for the price.. If you don't want to there are a lot of online stores you can check for the prices just to get an idea . As you know already, mylot members are from all over the country and you may not get exactly what you're looking for unless you wrote this discussion to earn a few cents...then good job!

I don't think that's advisable, in case of emergency, you have no idea what's happening around you.

You might start with an internet search on "How to soundproof a room?" and go from there. Usually in involves certain types of tiles and insulation on the walls and ceiling, as well as other measures.

@tech40 Have you considered quilts? The quilts can be decorative and they might absorb at least some of the sound. You may be able to find some nice ones in second hand shops.
