At Least We Didn't Lose

At least the Pack didn't lose. We didn't win either. There will be another column in the stats this year for Ties. It was a good game. I'm not the only person to disagree with the roughing the passer call on Clay Matthews that would have ended the Vikings chances of a win or going into Over Time. Had Cousins not gotten rid of the ball when he did, Matthews would have sacked him and it would have been a good call. However, the interception caused by the thrown ball was denied the Pack and the Vikings ended up with a touchdown and a two-point conversion to tie the game and take it into Over Time. The only thing that saved us completely was their kicker. He kicked three field goals and missed all of them. Now, there was the opportunity for us to win the game with a Mason Crosby field goal. The ball went clean through the uprights. However, at the last possible second, with the ball in the air, the Vikings called a timeout and Mason Crosby had to kick it again, and that one missed, unfortunately. So, it was a tied game 29-29. The Pack was ahead the entire game until that last touchdown by the Vikings that tied the game. You know I was screaming at the TV. At least we didn't lose. Okay, I know you're tired of reading about football. Get used to it. I'm a huge Packers fan. I'm not a sports fan. Just a Packers fan. Today is also Small Group Sunday at church. As I said yesterday in a post, I'm going to be leading a group. When Pastor called me up, he called me a little firecracker. I didn't tell him I've been called that before. What made me happy, is that despite the notecards, I didn't need them. Despite the fact I always shake like a leaf in a good wind, I didn't do that either. My voice was strong, and I was enthusiastic about the study I'm going to be teaching this year for Small Groups. I did find out Small Groups starts the first week of October. So, Friday nights between 6:30 and 8 I'll be busy doing what I love, teaching people how to pray. I need to go online and order the Bible Study book for the group study. I should be getting the leader kit soon. So, there you have it. It's been a good day today. Now to see what you've been up to. I also want to get some work done on the Thread of Evidence. I did work on it a little bit before church this morning, and I did finish the notifications I had when I woke this morning. I also got some cleaning done in the living room during the game. I'm going to need to do a deep clean before I start teaching on October 5th. Right now there are five people signed up and I'm happy about that. It's a good sized group to start with. Now, then, what have you been up to today? Thanks for reading.

With the ball in the air? Isn't that a bit late to be calling a timeout?

Yeah, that's what I thought. Oh well, what should have been a win, was at least not a loss.

I don't follow the NFL because of the decades of them covering up the TBIs being suffered by players whom the NFL knew were being crippled or killed and yet they did nothing about it.

@just4him Just salad with grilled chicken on it. The usual. My husband's Eagles lost as did my father's Jets. I think the Steelers lost too. That's all I was paying attention to.

You dodged a bullet with that field goal. I can't believe it because ties are so rare. Usually someone wins the overtime. That's the 2nd tie game in as many weeks in the NFL. That is probably more than they have in the whole season. Glad you did not have to throw anything at the TV, or did you?

No, I didn't throw anything at the TV except my dissatisfaction, frustration, and then my relief that that kicker can't kick a field goal from 30 yards. Yes, it was good to dodge that bullet. However, will we dodge the next one when we meet in their home stadium?

I've never watched a college game. Except when the Badgers were in the Rose Bowl. I did watch those ones. I'm glad to know there's another fan here.

@just4him I always watched NFL games until my son had friends over once that watched college and I loved it. Not as many rules, the game seems to be more exciting.

That was a crazy game! I couldn't believe how many twists and turns it had. That's so great about teaching your own home group!
