A bad day for the state of Pennsylvania in the NFL

Steelers, Eagles, NFL

Pennsylvania is fortunate to not only have two NFL teams, but two good ones. The Pittsburgh Steelers are perennial contenders, and of course the Philadelphia Eagles won the Superbowl last season. But today both teams lost! The Eagles succumbed to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers 21-27. What makes that so bad is that Tampa Bay didn't even have their 1st string QB, Jameis Winston, who is suspended for the first three games of the season. In his absence Ryan Fitzpatrick has really been lighting it up - he went 27 of 33 for 402 yards and four touchdowns. And then there's the Steelers. Who would ever have thought that after two games in this new season, the Steelers would still be winless? The Kansas City Chiefs, and their new breakout star QB Patrick Mahomes, put 6 TDs on the Steelers. After trailing 21-0 in the first half, Pittsburgh almost came back but fell short and lost 37-42. There's still hope - the season's young and I'm sure both teams will turn it around. But there's no joy in Pennsylvania tonight. Photo credit: Keith Allison via flickr (CC BY-SA 2.0)

Patrick Mahomes has put the league on notice. Hope your teams bounce back strong next week.
