I had to change my ringtone on my phone

The old ringtone was a soft sound, but I could hear even if I were in a conversation. But today I changed it because for the second time I missed a call to go into work and my phone was with me this morning as I was preparing to get ready in case I get a call. Sure enough, after I was done I looked at my phone and saw the missed call. I called back and they already filled the position, but the woman said there was a possibility someone might be going home early today and that she would call me if that was so. After I hung up I changed the ringtone which definitely gets my attention (and maybe annoying, but I can't continue to miss opportunities to work) and sure enough, within a few minutes that loud and insistent ring came out and I am going in at 11:15. This will be my second day on the job, but both are half days, hopefully now that I changed my ringtone I will get some full days in. Have you had to change your ringtone because you were missing important calls?

Well, it's 7:37 and so far I have had no call. However, it's still early, elementary school doesn't start until 9 so I can get a call anytime.

It hasn't happened to me but I'm retired now and don't even have a mobile.

Really? You got rid of your mobile phone? I don't know if I could do that.

@Carmelanirel2 No I didn't get rid of it. I've never had one! I'm a dinosaur.

@JudyEv I see. I had to get one, especially with a teenager so I could keep tabs on what he's doing. Plus, we are not in town and if someone was at the store, it is best to call (or text) something we need than to have to go back out.

If only you set your phone on both the ringtone and the vibration.

I do, but it isn't enough to capture my attention.
