The best offer I can give to you for pizza sauce is Rao's. Down the line is Classico Farther down that line is Barilla And farther still is Bertolli I will not go any farther down this line. There are those others that I won't even mention here. It's the sauce that makes all the difference, but still I must also maintain ... It's also the pizza dough

I think you may have started a Great Debate---Is the sauce or the dough more important? And is the answer the same for New York and Chicago style pizzas (If people can stop fighting about which one is better long enough to debate the Sauce/Dough question)? Personally, I never gave it any thought so I don't even have an opinion. But I can see this being very big and it also opens up more questions, like, where does the cheese rank? Is it more important than the pepperoni? Or the onions or green peppers? The mushrooms? Sausage? And what about the people who don't like one, some or all of those toppings?

I know for one thing this guy who loves our pizzas made from scratch right out of the kitchen, I don't make 'em but my wife certainly does and our friend, who is a former Combat Army Sergeant from the Vietnam War, always removes the SHROOMS from his pizza but eats the pizza just the same. He simply does not like mushROOMS. And the last time we had stuffed bell pepper, he ate the middle of the pepper and left the pepper alone. More about Army Staff Sergeants below:

@lookatdesktop ...he ate the middle of the pepper and left the pepper alone. ----I do that when people make stuffed squash but when it's stuffed green peppers, I eat everything. Same with pizza----I like all the traditional toppings. Taco Pizza, Cheeseburger Pizza and Pineapple pizza, though, NO. What's really odd is that when I lived in Philadelphia, we went to a pizza place that had vegetarian spinach pizza and I thought I would hate it but I tried it and I loved it. My ex-wife always wanted it because it had far fewer calories than all the other ones.

@xander6464 , I have had a spinach pizza before. Not my favorite because the way it was made well, not fresh leafy green spinach, but rather, canned spinach. Popeye might have liked it, but me, not so much.
