Hello everyone. Inspired by @jstory07's post. I remembered someone being called 'The Godfather' by her family. He is someone being look up to by one community. He is always being asked of what is the best decision and what should be done. He has people like body guards. Most people there are afraid of him. He spents his nights and weekends with them after work. He also help people there financially. Now No More. It was a thing in the past that is now being avoided to talk about. All his friends and all those who look up to him are in a good position in life now. Some working abroad, some in local politics. But The Godfather, as they used to call him, he is retired very early in life and chose to have a business that is forever struggling. His kids were provided for by his sisters since they were young until graduated from college. He is my father in law. Time cannot be returned so we have to do it the first time right.

It is so sad when we know of a person in high status would become a nobody in their olden days. It should have been the opposite - struggling when young and rich when old. I wonder why that happened to your father-in-law.

he spent too much time, money and effort to the wrong people. He should have spend all those to his family. He is stubborn and he does not want to listen to his family. He is also not good in his finances

@SIMPLYD true. Yesterday he said out loud that no one wants to lend him money anymore. No one wants to listen to him anymore.

Many times it's better to ask nothing, forget the past and move on.

@rakski If we could undo the past sometimes it would be great.

@LadyDuck oh yes. that would really be great. I heard my father in law talking to someone that is one thing that he regrets.

the so-called wheel of life. those who used to be up there helping those below sadly get run over and forgotten.

@Mavic123456 oh yes. That is one reason I cannot believe that he could be a sort of godfather

Yes, sadly, time cannot be returned. Luckily his kids had their Aunts to provide for them.

@rakski yes, it is a pity he took care of others before taking care of his own family. I think he is paying for that now. We all pay for our wrong decisions and mistakes.

Guess the stress was not worth it after all. At least now his family has him 100%? Does he look contented with life to you? (I am curious, that's all.)

No. I do not think so. Because he wants to help his son and daughter and his grandkids but he cannot do anything now.
