Soap Operas keep me from talking to my wife

"Keep quiet. I'm watching my soaps!" - I hate Soaps. I can't even get a word in edgewise when the soap operas are on. I just hate TV for this reason. It robs me of my talk time with my wife. She finds Young and the Restless too captivating to listen to anything I have to say. But, if I have to wait for the commercials to talk to her I forget what I was going to say. I have short term memory loss. It is not a good thing to have this kind of memory issue. When we are together in the livingroom, watching television or rather, the television is on and I am ignoring it but she is paying attention to it, I can't talk some of the times when she is enjoying it and I just want to talk. TV robs me of my wife. I want to talk to her when something is on my mind but television is taking her from me. I hate television for this reason. When I am wanting to get out of the livingroom because a movie is boring me to tears or is making me nervous, nobody else in the room understands that I want to GET AWAY FROM THE TV SET is all. I don't want to get away from my wife, it's the damned television show that is making me crazy. I want to sometimes go back to the computer and play The Sims 4 or watch a YouTube about abrupt climate change or even something from the history channel. I hate it when generic broadcast tv is on or a movie dvd is playing and I have a visitor over who likes the movie and I feel like I have to sit there for 2 hours, enduring that terrible movie just so I do not seem RUDE.
