Diary Thursday 20th September 2018 My last session of handing out flyers at the university promoting our movie festival on the theme of mental health. After a few quiet day we were rushed off our feet again but we got to chat with lots of lovely staff and students. Later I visited the community centre to job search there as a whole week of voluntary work activity has reduced my actual paid work job search activity. Diary Friday 21st September 2018 Voluntary work again, or rather a quick meeting to prepare for some voluntary assignments for coming weeks. I followed this with a visit to the library to complete some very complicated invoice form as I am to be paid for the articles I wrote recently criticising the welfare people for trying to pressure me into buying a smartphone. The forms were horrendous to understand and complete. I have no idea how long it will take them to send me the money. I will have to declare these earnings to the welfare team when they arrive. The weather today has been terrible, high winds and heavy rain too. Arthur Chappell

It will be interesting declaring income from criticising the welfare TO the welfare. Possibly rather satisfying.

@asfarasiknow no, that has gone bye-byes now - I remember it when it was allowed

@arthurchappell I remember back in the 80s when I was on benefits people were allowed to earn the princely sum of £4 per week without declaring it (the equivalent of about 2 - 3 hours' wages and it never went up). I don't suppose such an allowance even exists now.

I wonder why the forms have to be so much complicated every time. Better to declare the earnings, you never know.

@LadyDuck I do have to declare it as it would be illegal not to

Glad you are getting paid for those articles. Awful weather where you are. Mine is in the low 80's today. I feel fortunate. Do you think you will ever find a job that you like and that lasts?

It is a pity you have to declare the earnings. Oh a nice bit of wind and rain too there today. Blustery is it. Glad you did the promotion at the Uni. Hope you are keeping well Arthur and have enough to eat. Are they forcing you to volunteer? lol
