My decluttering buddy

The flash did not work exactly like it should so.... Fred Junior looks a tad Halloweeny. He has helped me this week. He accidentally- I'll call it an accident- smashed first a round piece of marble that I had used for a trivet. The pretty gray marble flew off the table that Fred leaped onto and neatly broke into two pieces. (Thrift store find but loved. Bye bye.) Second leap landed a fat mug off the bathroom vanity counter and onto the bathroom floor. It had been one of those cutesie flowered calligraphy bestowed numbers. I think one of my sisters had given it to me years ago. Hubby's toothbrush and razor had lived in it. I picked it off the floor and discovered a huge chunk out of it. So....cute mug lives in the garbage can now. I dug out another holder. This holder feels like its vintage plastic. I hope. It has the look of an impressionist painting; its colors reds and yellows. Most likely Fred has other things that he doesn't think I should bother to pack when we start to move. His purrs sound too clever and devious....

Maybe you should use a flashlight and really do a huge clean out. You know, sit still and let the cat follow the light.

@andriaperry You have a clever and sneaky idea. I'd get extra exercise, too, as I picked up the pieces.

@Morleyhunt You're right. I hate this way of getting shed of stuff but yup, one less thing to box.

@sallypup culling possessions for a move can be a trying experience. Disposing of something that is broken....makes it a much easier decision.

@wolfgirl569 Very true. Broken mugs and such is far better than a smashed kitten on a road.

At least he is trying to help and has thoughts of his own. Perhaps he will show you more objects he really never liked

Maybe you should keep finding breakable holders then Fred could get rid of some more for you.

So the cat helped you by breaking stuff so you have less to pack before you move out ? That's very nice of the cat :-) Can you please show the new holder ? The marble is a heavy stone, how did the cat move it and cause it to break like that ? I like the reflection from the cats eyes. When I work and watch from the watch tower, there is a quay (a breakwater) that is long. It starts from the power statoin and goes in a curve into the sea. It seals a wide pool of water for the usage of the power station (for example, to cool off stuff, to put fire out...) So, cats sometimes hang on the quay at night. No way anyone can see them in a distance at night, but, their eyes reflect the light from the projector, I can see a pair of glowing eyes.
