My 14-year old boy told me today that he earned 500 Philippine Peso, around $9. How? One of his classmates took interest in his socks, yes SOCKS! He has these Nike socks that nobody in his school has at all and his classmates have been wanting to have these. These socks aren't available in any Nike stores here in this country. My son got it in the US. He has about 6 pairs of those but he has used all of them. But his classmate insisted on paying him 500Php for a used Nike sock! The other classmates asked him if he still has another pair but he didn't want to sell it coz he was too ashamed to take more money on a used sock. That classmate offered 750Php or around $14 but he still said no. I think I have a business man of a son here. Have you sold an old pair of socks for that price?

I cannot believe how people can be crazy about "brand" stuff. I would never care to look if socks are made by Nike or whatever.

Well teens nowadays are like that. And they always prefer the unique ones that aren't used by many or commonly seen. I would never buy a pair of used socks, shoes, or clothing.

I haven't. But it is for sure that your son is a future businessman. He would probably excel at Nike in the future.

Yes, I think you have a budding businessman in your son. However, he shouldn't be shy that they are used sock, because nowadays, people are buying from ukay-ukay (pre-loved items).

His fatter told him to sell his other pair but he really wouldn't. I told him to just buy new ones and resell it at a much cheaper price.

The other classmates should get them online and pay a lot less.

That's what my son told them but they want it right away. And if they get it online they can only get those kind of pair from the US and they don't have the credit card plus they would pay a very high shipping cost going to the Philippines.

you have a son who is growing up to be a good businessman. maybe the pair of socks is a good 'catch', and not every boy can have a pair of Nike socks as the one your son sold.

In Ateneo, kids are really into branded items. And he's the only one who had that kind of socks. Though most kids have Nike socks, they're not the same one that he has.
