Ten Favorite Steve Miller Band Songs: True Fine Love (#7)

I would say "happy Monday," but that's such an oxymoron that it's almost a joke. Those of you in the federal government or banking enjoy your extra day off. All that means for me is I don't have to check the mail. But I can check in with another song from the Steve Miller Band. I had all of Steve Miller's albums at one point of my life (I've since rectified that), and he was on the bill of my first two rock concerts, so I'll always have a soft spot for him. Here's today's song. #7: True Fine Love Note: I think this is the last "commercial-era" song for awhile. We're going way back for the next song. But that's tomorrow. Today it's another one of those songs with a 50s feel to it (much like yesterday's song). This was strategically placed on the album right after "Swingtown," as if to say, "sorry about the disco, here's a 50s song to make up for it." While "Swingtown" was released as a single (and later became the name of a TV series [????!!!]), "True Fine Love," which to me is a better song, wasn't a single. This isn't the last song from Book of Dreams, either....but for now, just enjoy this fun ode to the early days of rock and roll. True Fine Love Written by Steve Miller From Book of Dreams, 1977 We'll have a boy for you, we'll have a girl for me:
Off of one of my favorite albums ever, Book of Dreams. The peak of Miller's excellence in the rock world.

You weren't kidding about the 50s vibe. It's way better than Space Cowboy.

I take disrespect towards the disco comment. One of my favorite bands.
