That is very nice. By wearing the ring having your stone, does it bring a lot of peace? Thanks for the response.

There is a lot importance given to birthstones even in moderndays. In fact I list below the months and the birthstone one can have in their gold/silver/platinum ring. The Pundits say that the stone should be touching your skin. January; Garnet FEBRUARY; Amethyst MARCH: Bloodstone or Aquamarine APRILDiamond MAY : Emarald JUNE : Pearl or moonstone JULY: Ruby AUGUST: Sardonyx or Peridot SEPTEMBER: Sapphire OCTOBER: Opal or Tourmalline NOVEMBER: Topaz DECEMBER: Turquoise or Lapis Lazuli Mine is Sardonyx and I also use Peridot on my ring. I have a strong faith in my birthstone in as much as it is doing good for me.

Mine is Topaz. I don't wear it on my ring, though - not even on my class ring. I got the blue stone on my class ring (I forget which stone) simply because I like the color better. It matches my eyes, which are also blue, and my clothing, which I again own a lot of in blue.

July: Ruby Highly prized by emperors and kings, the ruby is believed to preserve the wearer's body and mental health by removing evil thoughts, controlling amorous desires, and reconciling disputes. The gemstone's fiery red color represents stimulation, life, heat, and power. Desired by both men and women alike, this most precious gem is perfect for any occasion, but is especially suggested for fifteenth and fortieth anniversaries.

My birthstone is Opal. Opals are the mystical birthstone for the month of April and the modern and ayurvedic birthstone for the month of October. Opals are one of the daily gemstones for Saturday and is the fourteenth anniversary gemstone. Opals increase your imagination and dreams and also assist in general healing. I have a ring that has three opals in it. I got it for my sixteenth birthday.

Opal is the October birthstone as well as the accepted anniversary gemstone for the 14th year of marriage. The well-known Roman naturalist Pliny described opal as "made up of the glories of the most precious gems... the gentler fire of the ruby, the rich purple of the amethyst, the sea-green of the emerald, glittering together..." White opal has a white or light body color with flashes of many colors. Black opal has a black, dark blue, dark green or gray body color with vivid flashes of color such as red, pink and bright green. Opal has symbolized hope, innocence and purity through the ages. In the Middle Ages, young, fair-haired girls wore opals in their hair to protect its lovely blond color. Medieval writers believed opal could render its wearer invisible when the need arose. It was also said to have a beneficial effect on eyesight. It was thought to banish evil spirits and favor children, the theater, amusements, friendships and feelings. Care should be taken to protect it from scratches, sharp blows, household chemicals, and extreme temperature changes. To maintain the brilliance of opal, it should be wiped clean with a soft cloth. Do not use a home ultrasonic machine or jewelry cleaner. Opal sources are Australia, Mexico and the U.S. Sometimes tourmaline is used as a birthstone for October as it comes in many colors such as blue, yellow, pink, red, black, green and clear - but primarily in pink and green. It also occurs in color combinations within single stones which accounts for its popularity. Having a hardness of 7.5 and not being as fragile as opal Tourmaline is often selected by those who prefer faceted stones. As with all gems, care should be taken to protect tourmaline from scratches and sharp blows. Also avoid large temperature changes (such as leaving it be a heater vent or in a hot car). Do not clean tourmaline in a home ultrasonic cleaner. Tourmaline is found in Africa, Brazil, Madagascar, Mexico, Myanmar, Sri Lanka, and USA (California, Connecticut, Maine, New York and Texas). Thanks for your response.

amethyst is my birth stone. It is a symbol of heavenly understanding, and of the pioneer in thought and action on the philosophical, religious, spiritual and material planes. Ranking members of the Catholic Church traditionally wear rings set with a large amethyst as part of their office.

My birthstone is Sapphire ( A September baby) it's a really pretty color blue, I love it. I used to have a beautiful ring with my birthstone in whitegold, my boyfriend gave it to me. Well split up so i gave him back the ring which he then gave to his mother. Well, we've been back together over a year now and his mother still wears the ring since she is a virgo too. GRRR!!

Opal. No. I do have an opal ring that is too large and set in yellow gold. It is set in yellow gold so I haven't had it resized. I did look into getting some form of opal in my wedding set, but it looks funky with white gold.
