What do you see when you look at this image? Do you see a woman walking on a dry, cracked surface toward an outcropping of rocks. Do you see a stark landscape? What about the birds flying high overhead? When I look at this image I see a young woman caught in a nightmare. Walking across a rocky dry surface looking for release from this nightmarish land. The rocks ahead are leaning towards her as if to watch what she will did. There is a hint of empty eyes in the rocks staring down at her. The ground is hard and uneven making her passage so much harder than it needed to be. The birds above look like they are gathering above, beginning to form the circle of flight that they do when someone or something is dying. I wonder how she got there, why she is there. So, what do you see?
