The new sitcom, based on the classic sitcom Roseanne, is premiering tonight. I was a casual fan of Roseanne back when we had cable, so my mom and I plan to watch he Connors tonight. I'm curious about the direction they're going to take with the new series. For those who aren't in the loop, they had planned to reboot Roseanne and follow the same formula as the classic series, same actors and everything, and effectively undo the (spoiler warning) death of the husband character that happened in the finale. But because of Roseanne Barr's recent racist tweets iirc, they weren't keen to have her on the show anymore, so they wrote her out of it so she's the one who died instead of him. What I find hilarious is that they could've very easily cancelled the whole show. But instead of dong that, they reworked the entire thing--plot, dynamics, even the show's title--so as not to involve her. How petty is that?! So yeah, I'm looking forward to this show.
