SNL Spoof On Kanye West Almost Matches The Actual Talk

President Trump recently gave free reign to his rapper supporter, Kanye West and American Footballer Jim Brown. West was allowed to make a presentation that amounted to the most sprawling unintelligible crazy gibberish imaginable. I actually watched this Saturday Night Live (SNL) sketch based on it, with references to Superman, trap doors and time travel. Then I watched the actual White House talk footage and thought I was watching the sketch again. It involved time travel, Superman, trap doors, etc. How was this time waster allowed to talk so freely in the White House and his hugging the President ought to have seen him pounced on by security officials. Trump obviously needs famous supporters but Kanye is so off the wall the show was like watching a spectacular mental disintegration. It would be funny if not for being so real. The comedy sketch version is frightfully close to what actually happened. Youtube - The SNL Trump - Kanye West meeting Arthur Chappell

You can hardly notice the difference between the real speech and this show. At least the show is funny.

The meeting at the White House with Trump and Kanye West was the most ridiculous thing I've ever witnessed. Actually it was like a comedy show.

@RubyHawk hard to imagine how it could boost his sales - he has alienated much of his fan base

@RubyHawk hard to see any political value in it for Trump at all - for Kanye obviously a useful publicity stunt

@arthurchappell Kanye got a lot of publicity from it but it only made Trump look even more ridiculous. I'm not even sure it helped Kanye.

I will say one thing for the Trump Administration, they are a challenge for comedians. Satirizing real-life satire is a big mountain to climb. Ronald Reagan couldn't do it. George W. couldn't do it. Richard Nixon couldn't do it. They tried really hard but they blew it by maintaining a semblance of credibility.

If the tweet that I saw today was real, Kanye said that he now realizes he was being used and manipulated for political gain and will now be focused on music.

This private tax-paying citizen and artist-singer, Kanye West, wasted no time at all speaking to the President of the United States. He was heard. He was respected. He was an honored guest in the White House to speak his heart and mind.

I will patiently await the spoof they will do of a 53-year old woman talking like a school girl during the Kavanaugh hearings, or of Elizabeth Warren who we now know is clearly NOT Native American. As for Kanye West in general, it is so sad to think that had Kanye said the EXACT same things praising Obama he would have been hailed a hero and a genius. Ugh. Trump derangement syndrome is so tiring.

Didn't Elizabeth Warren get a DNA test recently? If Dr. Ford sounded like a "school girl", Kavanaugh revealed his bullying temperament. As for Kanye West, he deserve the ridicule he got for his nonsense gibberish, irrespective of the political side he's on. The guy made a fool of himself and I was amaze how Trump got through it. Maybe it's because they speak the same language. BTW, "Trump derangement syndrome". To have a disease name after you...is an honor???

Elizabeth Warren has demonstrated that she has Native American DNA - just not relating to any specific tribe. She has proved her case and Trump calling her Pocahontas is blatant racism. Christine Blasey Ford sounded sincere and honest throughout her hearing, not at all like a school girl. Republicans fawning over Kavanaugh sounded utterly corrupt throughout and the manipulation of the FBI investigation was a blatant display of the abuse of their power. Kanye would have sounded certifiable wherever he spoke as he did - more worried by Trump apologetics than any kind of rump derangement syndrome other than recognizing that Trump is deranged
