Sayings: Do you believe that actions speaks louder than words?

Germany
October 18, 2018 4:37am CST
Good Morning/Afternoon/Evening to all mylotters, Admin, Creators, Founders and Investors It`s afternoon here and I was thinking about the old saying that reminds me of my younger years that in order for you to understand someone is by actions because just like me who happens nothing much to say everytime a friend started to meet me and have a talk. Anyways, I agree with the saying but not always because there are things that needed to speak out than action. Do you believe the same? I hope you can share with me here. Have a great day and Happy mylotting to all Photo: Google

The two go hand in hand. It would be awkward to show actions without words.

@DianneN I imagine someone gets up from his chair and goes home while the show is on. The crowd doesn't know why. Maybe he needs the toilet, maybe he doesn't like the show. It will look a little weird, so speaking goes hand in hand with actions.

It is true in a way, that when someone is saying he loves you but don't act like he does. My husband isn't a talker. He is more on action. Though sometimes I want that he also would tell me in words, that he loves me.

No I don't believe Well, look at those speakers and talkers and demonstrators, debaters, announcers... they own the floor and the others can't do nothing but to nod. You talk with sound bites and it will be in the headline. Work and only few will notice what you've done.

Well, when Abraham had visitors (GOD sent them to Abraham), Abraham told them to stay at his tent and have something to eat. They didn't know how much he and his wife made food for them. They prepared a lot of food for the visitors. So, there is a saying that says "speak a little, do a lot". I guess that's right to achieve things like reliability, credibility and get things actually done... So, actions do a lot more than words. If someone is against meat eating, he can speak a lot about it, it will make effect if it gets to many listeners. If that person only stays away from meat, no one knows why and only few will even notice...So, speaking here brings a better result of attention. Well, if that person eat meat, and speaks against it, that is not reliable and fake.

@m_audrey6788 Can you please explain what you wrote about your younger years ? Did you mean that a friend came over to spend some time, started talking about something and you didn't have much to say ? In that sense, it reminds me when I was a teenager, I didn't speak much, I was better in doing things.

From Christopher Nolan's "Batman" I remember a line that could be applied here. "But it's not who you are underneath, it's what you do that defines you." What you say has it's value, but it must be backed up by what you do. And you may be a genius, but do nothing all day. What will people think? They won't see the genius, they'll just think you're lazy.

@m_audrey6788 I think that line is right. Your place in society depends on what you do. Well, if you're a politician, then what you say is more important, apparently...

Yes I believe it. There are different interpretations depending on the context. We can say a politician would lay down his platform during the campaign to win the votes of the people. His actions will illuminate rather than his voice.
