Last week, on 11th of October, there was opening of 16 stores all over te Serbia of German company called LIDL. It was advertised with a bit lower prices than we usually have here, so what happend on opening? Thousends and thousend of people, waiting for hours in front of the store, fighting for chichken?! Yes. Very very sad, but its shows in what economical place Serbia is right now. There was many jokes all over the social media and it was main subject for dasys. People buying tons of food, supplies for years... Yesterday, seven days later I went to one of the stores just so see that if I wasnt aware that opening was seven days ago, I could have easyly think it was yesterday. Full pariking of cars and almost impossible to shop coz there is too many people. Woundering for how long this will last... (photo is from blic.rs)

It won't last forever. People are curious now. But LIDL will certainly remain successful just like ALDI is. Have you also got an ALDI store nearby?

If prices stay low it could last longer. Other stores say they have much less people now. So it's just question will they raise prices or other will lower them. No, we don't have ALDI. I didn't even heard for it, LIDL I know from Greece.

People always go for cheap stores. No wonder, it got lots of customers. But it's always like that when there's a newly opened stores. People will really flock because they are curious of how the store is.
