I was chatting to a fellow mylotter @Marilynda1225, who was delighted with the idea of pizza for dinner as it left no dishes to which I replied . . . Whoever started the TREND of Cooking and Cleaning? I am a keen homemaker and have done my best for four decades now, but goodness me, enough is enough as I am over the cleaning and cooking. I have promised myself that as soon as my daughter has married and is living happily ever after with her hubby (at the start of her era of cleaning and cooking), I am taking a SABBATICAL from this overworked, underpaid, mundane job! Get my drift? Happy Evening/morning to you all and if you have any idea who started the TREND - you may whisper their name in my ear. leave your thoughts . . . .

@Corbin5 I know the answer. It was Eve who did it for Adam. He flattered her that only a woman could do the job so well so that he wouldn't have to join in.

@inlemay And when you've sorted that one out you can start on ironing. Who in their right mind started that trend?

I stopped that trend many many years ago, if it’s not wash and wear I don’t buy it. Except hankies.

@xFiacre well then I hope he wore them outside his pants, just in case we all missed it. Goodness me, now I ask you, did his wife have to iron his sharp seam, or did he do it himself?

@Inlemay my cousin is one of those fastidious people who would not feel that he could go out in public if there wasn’t a very sharp seam ironed into his underpants.

Who started the curse? Surely a man... God?

@Inlemay Eva offered an apple, nothing to cook, nothing to clean.

It might have been Eve. She had the perfect life in the Garden until she messed it up for the human race. God relegated her to the duties of a housewife.

I like pizza for dinner, with no clean up required, but it doesn't do wonders for the waist line!

I guess the cavemen started the trend of cooking when someone discovered fire. :P Can't say who started the cleaning trend, though, because I expect, early on cleaning just meant throwing things out. :P No dishes to wash yet at the start. xD

Love the Sabbatical idea! There is often so much to do (and we all help here, so I am not in this alone) I say "I am going to quit this job" referring to any household responsibilities I have at the time. We make extras at meal time so we don't have to do things each day. This works for us.
