Doctor Appointment This Morning / myLot

Not happy about this but I have an appointment with a new rheumatologist this morning. The one I had for years has passed away unfortunately. I hate those initial visits because they take a long time and not knowing this doctor at all makes me a bit nervous. Anyway, a woman has to do what she has to do, I have no choice. Just hoping that everything will go smoothly. Have a lovely day or evening.

Years ago, my mother inlaws doctor passed away. We had to find a new doctor. The upside was, the new doctor reviewed all her history....greatly reduced her Meds and took a different approach to her health. The improvement she (my MIL) showed was worth the inconvenience.

Hi Marlina! I hope your new doctor is a good one. A good doctor is important specially if it’s for chronic illness.

Those initial appointments are very time consuming and we have to pack our patience. I had to do that last spring when I finally got a new family doctor. But it has paid off and we have a great rapport now. I hope that today's appointment isn't too terrible.

I have no problems with new doctors---I come with 1) med list 2) hospital history 3) doctors list 4) latest blood work 5) important phone numbers and needed connections and 5) personal history and we get down to business right away.

I hate starting over with new doctors and repeating everything you have gone through, then its the doc that has to play catch up on your chart. Good luck, I hope it gets better for you.
