DIY Project on my Deck

It is time to have the deck flooring replaced. It has a few places where the wood is starting to sink. This is a drawback when you choose wood. But it is the more economical way to go. All I need is to step through the floor and break my leg. So the time has come to spend some money. Nothing is cheap these days if you want it done right. My husband will be doing all the work. The materials are pricey but it has to be done.
The photo was taken a few years ago when it was first done. I hope the new one looks like this soon. Then it can be stained.
Do you have a project that need to get done around your home?

Carol, you are very lucky your husband can do the labour. If you had to pay for the work as well as the material it would be a whole other story. I am sure it will look great, and I would like to see it after you stain it!

Yes and that is he willing to do it. usually we get someone to do it but we know the expense that involves. The deck we have now was done by professionals. I will share pics. It will take awhile. He will definitely take his time, doing everything to the inth degree, somewhat of a perfectionist. But that is ok too.

Well good luck with the project, I hope it goes well! That's true that things like that are pricey.
We don't have anything that needs done...since we live in an apartment complex we can't really do any projects like that ourselves.

We had those very iron railings on our deck back when I lived up here in Denver before. But we went with Trex since we had the money at the time.

Yes everything is expensive and you are lucky that your husband can do the job. You will save money that way. Yes, I have something I want to put on our porch in the winter for my cat so she can go out and not get wet from the rain but have not gone to check out places yet. I have something that has to be done and then start something else too.
