Back Porch Story Time

So a friend of mine got me started with an activity called Back Porch Story Time. On the back porch of her historic home (she just saved from destruction by the city), she is having me read a story to any kids in the community who wish to participate. We have a craft, music, and snack for them as well. We have done it for two months and the kids love it. In September, we read about Johnny Appleseed, and my husband even dressed up like Johnny Appleseed for the kids (pot on his head and all). In October, we did the Pumpkin Patch Parable. For November, I am thinking of reading a kids story that I have written myself. I just have to come up with a cute snack they can take home with them that falls into the Thanksgiving theme.
Any ideas?

Thats a cute idea, sounds like you are having fun with it and I am sure the kids are enjoying it. About how many kids do you have coming to this every month? Off the top of my head I have no idea but if I get one I will let you know. Good luck

Such a wonderful thing to do. What snacks did you serve during September and October, that might help us come up with ideas for November.
