I just bought some sachets of hydrolyzed collagen. If you drink them with water every day, they are supposed to be wonderful for your knees. Some people say that the collagen only stops pain, but will not add collagen to the cartilage between the bones in your knees. I don´t mind, as long as it does not hurt as much. I have to prepare myself for that week of walking with my daughters in Ciudad de México next February. Both of my daughters are very active, as I was before that stupid lymphoma and the subsequent chemotherapy. Now, at my age, it is difficult to return to an active life. Chemotherapy has side effects too: I have some vascular problems that cannot be solved But let´s hope that this collagen will help. My grandmother said that everything was a matter of faith.

Do you eat meat? If you want to help your cartilages eat more meat. Meat contains a lot of collagen, if you eat meat, your body breaks down the collagen naturally. Medical studies showed that when people with joint pain increased the amount of meat they felt a lot better.

I am a meat eater. I wouldn´t even know how to be a vegetarian although I enjoy some vegetarian dishes. But my metabolism changed in many ways after chemotherapy.

@marguicha At least you continue to eat meat, that is a good thing.

@LadyDuck I do. And I also like some meats richer in collagen, such as cow´s feet or pig´s feet. I make a delicious cheese with it.

@Tina30219 I´m keeping my fingers crossed that it will be helpful. It is quite expensive.

@marguicha You will have to share how it works for you once you have tried it for a while.

Good luck! Is this something that your doctor has recommended?

I have so many doctors lately that sometimes I also rely on what friends tell me. I had/have a lymphoma (treated) but I don´t ask my oncologist about small pains. I just want to know that I will be alive and kicking for a while longer. I spent some money (a lot for me) on a special knee doctor that treated my knees with corticoids. It did not help. The next step would be surgery, but I don´t have the money or the need yet. I´m crossing my fingers that this will help some.
