Not a Twinkie or a Ding Dong, Hostess gifts

Hostess gifts are not necessarily made by the baker. They are rememberances given by someone who has a party or an event, for all who attend.
I mentioned that I was going to a ladies' event last Saturday, in Oklahoma.
The kind lady who planned it all bought a flat of pansies. She chose fizzle sizzle orange as the color, for fall and Halloween. She put little pumpkin/jacko'lantern faces in every pot as well.
I planted mine in a dark green large pot I had at home.
Pansies tolerate very early spring and late fall cool temperatures very well.
I shall enjoy them as long as they last. I may even put them in a sheltered area when it gets really cold.

@shaggin
That is what I thought. When I had one it always bloomed for Mother's Day.

I am a little dense, as right now I do not know what an OG gentleman is. I think it is awesome you brought flowers. As @bagarad says, that is what is generally meant as a hostess gift, a gift for the hostess.

Yes, that is generally how it is meant, but what else would you call a gift that the hostess gives to all attendees? Yes, it is pansy time. I love them too.

It is, and it means I can still have some outdoor color.
