Bluejay at my Deck Feeder

I enjoy feeding the backyard birds all year. I also keep fresh water out for them. During the winter I go out and make sure the frozen water stays fresh. For now the birds are continuing to enjoy the feeder even in the rain. They seem to flock to the feeder even more when it rains. I enjoy watching and photographing nature in my backyard.
Sharing a photo of a Bluejay eating peanuts from my deck feeder. Bluejays are very loud and beautiful birds. I can hear them before I see them. I also see cardinals, woodpeckers, mockingbirds, mourning doves, and sparrows. And every now and then a new bird shows up that I have not seen before. It is very rewarding to watch.

@CarolDM We just don't have a backyard or anything where we live...and we don't stay at my grandparents long enough. He gets to see lots of squirrels at my grandmothers though.

@CarolDM no, the house sparrows and other birds nibble on the ripe guavas hanging in the tree. they can also swipe small insects in the grasses.

That's a great photo, Carol! I sometimes see rabbits and hares in my garden, but they are unwelcome visitors as they do quite a lot of damage, especially the rabbits. Our cat is supposed to keep them away, but she is reluctant to chase the hares, as they are bigger than her!
