Date Night

Our Friday date night turned out very well last night. Joes son Daniel came and made lasagna for us. It is so scrumptious. I think Daniel inherited his fathers culinary skills. I see only one flaw to his cooking. He has not yet learned to cook in proportion. What ever he cooks he always makes enough to feed an army. There is always more left over than was taken out. Even though his dishes are quite tasty we get tired of the same left overs day after day. I am not really complaining because I do not have to cook. Not with 2 men around who are so good at it. There is one more step Daniel need to learn about cooking. That is how to clean up afterwards. He always leaves a pile of pots and pans a messy counter and stove for Joe to clean up. I have tried to help but hubby will not let me. He would rather just sit and talk over dessert and coffee before I have to go back to mothers. He put the leftover lasagna away last night and left the kitchen mess for this morning. He is cleaning it now while I get online for a few minutes then I have to go back and do mothers hair. At 3 oclock Joe will come over and drive me to another hair appointment in Chesapeake. He does this every Saturday. Then he sits in the car doing crossword puzzles until I am done. Well I see my time is up and I must go. Have a blessed day.

What a lovely marriage you have, you sound blessed to have such a wonderful family. My son was the same way, I put him through Culinary school and cleaning up afterward was not his strong point either.

When hubby cooks, he never cleans up. I am glad @UncleJoe does. I do not believe there is a way to make small lasagna. I love that I can cut it in squares and freeze it to enjoy on other occasions.

A hubby that cooks and cleans up. Where I do I find one of those. Mine thinks cooking means ordering pizza.

The lasagna looks good. Yes I believe that cooking is not easy to prepare and cleaned up everything after

Maybe you should give him a smaller pan and tell him that the filling of this pan will be enough for you. This won't be insulting if you wrap it nicely and put a bow on it.

It's funny, because my two sons and my husband do most of the cooking and cleaning, too. We should consider ourselves among the lucky ones. Bon Appetite!
