Children Dressed as Saints for the All Saint's Day

The Catholic Bishops Conference of the Philippines urged parents to dress their children as a "saint" instead of wearing monster costumes to celebrate Halloween. They said dressing up as ghouls, evils, etc. is not good; instead, they should mimic the saints for their good deeds by depicting themselves as one, by wearing their signature costumes. Do you agree with this?

It is not popular yet, but usually done inside the church grounds only on All Saints' Day.

Well, that's from the Catholic themselves. Well, make a lot of sense though because it is All Saints Day.

It is for the Catholics, yes, that's the good thing here, we have freedom of religion and they (priests) just wanted to guide the children well; just to let them know the good deeds of the Catholic saints.

@acelawrites But sometimes it is good too, to show some devil characters to let the people be aware and be careful because in every place in this world there are monsters. Ha ha.

Think this would pass. I know what you are saying, Maybe mixed emotions but maybe would go farther if you let people be free to chose. That is what I say

Yes, we have the freedom to choose; it is just one of the choices for the parents. They can also wear clown costumes, Disney character costumes, etc. that are not so gory.

Its better for children to imitate the saints than the devils and ghouls.

It is what the Catholic priests are advocating; to let the children appreciate the good deeds of saints.

I agree, that it should be that way. At least they are the saints that they are trying to imitate even in just the costumes.

It is a good idea; but others who are not Catholics can dress their children as cartoon characters.

The children may not even fully understand what saints are ...

It is the parents who should do the task of explaining to their children who the saints are. But this is for Roman Catholics only.

If someone starts posting a photo of his/her child wearing a saint costume on sns and it goes viral, everyone will follow.
