My Poor Avocado Plant

It germinated on the water, when the roots finally became fuller, I transferred it to the compost soil and used a cable wire to secure it, because the stem is still weak, it was starting to bend down, but after I cut the cable wire, few days ago, I saw a scar on the stem, then eventually the leaves started closing but its not yet turning brown as of the moment so I hope I could still save it. Anyone knows how to save a weak avocado plant? I don't want to give up on it.
