Well, what can you do?

We had a bit of a lengthy wait yesterday, when our car had a flat. What did I do? Well, I finished reading the magazine I had in the car from another trip. And I called and scheduled my dental appointment for today. That unlucky, crumbling tooth. It may have been lucky after all. My dentist wanted to do a root canal on this tooth. Upon closer exam, he decided that just a filling would do, the tooth still had some life in its root. Probably saved at least $700. Not that I liked spending $200 I had not planned for, but it is okay. I also finally got my fitness band programmed. Similar to a fit bit, not so techy or pricey. I now have learned how sedentary I am. I reallllllllly need to step up my steps. The time in the car was well spent. Hubby and I had time to talk some together, no distractions. In a pinch, perhaps I could have napped, but traffic was awful. I try to always have a good way to pass time. It was okay yesterday.

I'm tempted to get a fit bit thingy but I think I might be horrified at its findings so perhaps I won't.

Oh, I just got this simple thing, tells me how many steps. If I were to wear it to bed it says it can tell how much I sleep. I do not want data kept on my sleep.

@GardenGerty Some of them seem to be able to document all sorts of things.

I would never do a root canal. I'd just tell them to pull the darn tooth, Not worth saving. When I am really old I'll just have dentures or implants anyway.

I am in the process of getting partials, or needing to be in the process. I had five teeth pulled this spring and summer. Problem is that although my teeth are bad, the roots are fantastic. It two two trips to two different dental offices and four hours of work to pull the last one. I was not ready to have a tooth pulled this week.

@GardenGerty At least your roots are good. Not sure what the status of mine are. But I will definitely be a candidate for implants or dentures...sooner than I would care to admit.

I think so. There is still more I need to catch up on, appointment wise, but I will do it.

I do not have a fit bit thing, but I know that I move a lot, a house on three floors is a very good exercise.

Yes, it would be. I am afraid my knees would not do well there, though.

@GardenGerty I only have a little problem with my right knee, because I have fallen from the stairs three years ago and hurt it. It's not a big problem, it hurts a bit when there is too much humidity in the air.

That's cool that you found some good things to do while waiting on the flat to be fixed.

Don't forget to look at the little birdies. Meaning sometimes just need a take a minute to look at the world and see if it is still there. Its always hard to do that when something frustrating like that happens though. You sounded pretty relaxed everything given. Always good to be that way also in those type of circumstances Life can always be worse but its cool when little reminders like that happen to make us remember what is important. How I always try to look at things anyway. Silver lining and all, but what do I know.

There was an empty field next to us, not a lot of wildlife there at the time. I have watched a hawk this afternoon out my front window. We watched clouds and marveled at how far they traveled and some were very dark and others while and they did an interesting "dance" around the sky.

Good that you had time to do some things that otherwise would not get done. I too have got to get moving. My little apartment does not give me much room to move about. I think I will start by taking walks at least twice a week and work from there.

I have had pedometers in the past, but they got in my way and I would accidentally reset them. This wrist band seems to be more honest in its count and less likely to get bumped or anything.

Me too. I am struggling right now, because dentists are expensive. This was not too bad.

I usually have more than one magazine. I have not read books as much as I used to.
