Most Recent Activity?

I am just curious. 99% of the time when I am looking for discussions to read and respond to, I am on Most Recent Activity. I rarely, if ever, visit the other places to look. Of course, I also find discussions through comments on my own posts and from those who comment on other's posts. But I spend a LOT of time in Most Recent Activity. How often are you using Most Recent Activity to find discussions? More interesting I suppose is where do you mostly visit to find them?

Their discussions,I get the people I follow first. I follow cause I like the perple and find their life interesting.

Interesting. I rarely if ever follow anyone. Maybe I should start doing this. I mean, I have people as "following," but only as a matter of "protocol," I don't actually follow most of them.

@porwest I have many regulars that I read and they read me, so that I can read theirs, morning or night I follow.

@andriaperry Maybe I need to clean up who I am following and actually follow those I'd actually want to follow.

That is always where I go and after that I will go to my followers and see what's up that way.

@porwest I can understand that. Most of the people I talk to on here is the same people I talk to everyday.

@hillhjill I tend to talk to the same people too. But I do spend a lot of time on Most Recent Activity.

I rarely ever rely on followers. So many people follow me who never have any activity, especially on my own posts.

I do not use it. I check interesting discussions and hot discussions to respond.

@vandana7 I like most recent since I tend to feel like I find more there to read, and often come across older posts as well.

I also do the same thing. If I have time, then I can do to other activities.

There are many ways to find posts of course. This one just happens to be my favorite way to find them. I actually wish more people did it this way. A lot of times a very old post someone probably most definitely missed might pop up and then it can have a shot at a second or third round of attention.

Like you, I look at most recent stuff. The authors of those are more likely to be online so they will most likely respond.

Very true, and I never thought about it like that. But very true.

I never get out of my own notifications to have the time to look there or elsewhere.

I am trying to get better at keeping up with my notifications. It's a conundrum because the more active I am the more notifications I have to deal with.

I have book marked the most recent activity on my laptop. so whenever I open my laptop to mylot that this the page that opens and I start my responses from there. That is when I am not responding to the notifications in my inbox.

I don't use most recent activity that often, because I tend to see a lot of the same discussions. I prefer going to most recent discussions.

@porwest When a person is online when you write, many times I get into a conversation which is a better experience than to answer a post and wait to see if there will be a comment.

@marguicha I agree. I much enjoy those people that I can actually have a true discussion with that goes on for a little while. Makes the site much more 'engaging.'

That is one part of it I had not considered. But yes. You are right. You are probably more likely to get a quicker response from those people online than from those who are not. Even if that statement also happens to be a no brainer. lol

It is interesting to me that more people don't spend more time in most recent. Certainly a lot of older posts tend to show up there. Ones I otherwise may have missed.

Usually I go to Hot Discussions first and then to Most Recent Discussions. I hardly go to Most Recent Activity.

I rarely find anything of interest in those areas. Seems to me those areas are always way more content limited than most recent since these touch a wider array of timelines and posts. But that's just me.

@porwest Most of the discussions I respond to are taken from Most Recent Discussions. Some others are from Interesting Discussions and New Users Discussions.

Makes sense. I tend to almost always check most recent activity personally. But it is interesting to see that so many people do it differently around here.

It depends on how much time I have, which is usually too much. ha! I read my notifications first. Then go to Most Recent Activity & Discussions. The Most Recent Discussions can be interesting. Then if I get bored I will scan through the others.

The notifications can get pretty daunting. I have been much better lately about getting through those. I try to keep them under 100 at all times these days and so far so good.

I have looked at "top rated" from time to time, and then wonder how a discussion that has 2 responses is top rated while one with 25 can't be found.

I like to go interesting discussions and then to my followers or who I'm following. Then I might just go on down the list in the explore section.

Same pinch. I also first try Most Recent Activity and New User's Discussions.
