today, 10th november, people in indonesia celebrate national heroes day. the day is to commemorate the war in surabaya, east java, indonesia. it is the second largest city in indonesia. the war is between indonesian soldier and militia againts the Ally (great britain and the dutch). the war was so deadly, and more than 10k indonesian passed away in the day. great britain also suffered and lost many soldiers and a general died (but in a hearsya, gen mallaby dead in case of friendly fire). the city was in big fire and most building were down. after the war, great britain no longer in front of the dutch and let the dutch fought for him self for re-colonizing back indonesia. the war was over, but the spirit for freedom is still alive. hopefully all countries in the world cooperate for making better world for all nation. i dont blame the dutch for what we had in the past (the concept of indonesia actually is just a Netherlands Indie legacy; if dutch didnt colonize Indonesia, so there will be NO indonesia), but just to remind what happened which called history then.
