Men You Can`t Live Without Them

I woke to pouring rain, early, went back to sleep and at 9:30 I got up and its still pouring rain. An hour later, its still pouring rain. Looking at a list of to do things, that I will not do today, makes me see how many men I will have to hire to get this done. I need a plumber, although I can do this myself, I am not fond of crawling under a house. I need an electrician, I just do not work with wires, this does need a pro. I need help with sheet rock, I would gladly pay for this to be done because I can do it and I hate it. I need a tree surgeon, I just need so many cut down that you think "why did people plant those so close to the house, did they not know they would be 40 feet tall?" I need a carpenter, well I can do some of this but a pro would be better. I need a roofer, yes of all things! I ran a company all those years and now I need one. I am going with tin on all the houses now, I helped roof a couple but I was the ground person, shoving up the tin and tossing up tools. I am not scared of heights but I don`t want to slide off either. Now ....... I want a gardener. I want a cook. I want............ Okay there will always be those wants too, what can I say I am a woman.

I agree...how much do those services cost in your parts of the world? Plumber, electrician, sewer cleaning, roofer, etc., etc. I can tell you, our plumber would charge 300 INR to 500 INR per visit, which may last anywhere between one hour to 8 hours. Same with electrician, sewer cleaner, as to roofer, this year I have spent a huge amount.

@andriaperry What is go for labor? LOL.. I don't think our professionals (qualified civil engineers) step in to do those plumbing and sewer jobs. They just guide some people when new constructions are on, or when there is a huge assignment with decent money. Even government employees don't do anything that is why we do have sewer and plumbing issues. We have to make do with people who have worked under them, or have learned a little bit through some small courses. Electrical engineers too supervise, they don't climb the poles, or check the things. They employ helpers.

@vandana7 Go for means someone that goes for whatever someone needs. Labor means someone who is told what to do and does it.

The electric is the most expensive, to me, and I do hire that done. The rest I can do and hire a "go for" for labor. I was just dreaming for a moment.

@andriaperry My youngest has learned to do just about everything since my son-in-law works all over the world. She recently dug up part of the orchard looking for a busted pipe and fixed it.

You need a workman who can do a little bit of everything. For the electricity you need an electrician, this is dangerous.

I love to outsource things though I can do them myself. But having too many things on plate makes me stressed out and also I will need more than 24 hours in a day to do everything and find some me time to stay sane. So better use them and stay peaceful.

@andriaperry Yes. If you can afford it, go for it. Save your time and energy for things that are more important and productive for you. Depending on your financial capacity and interest you can take a decision.

No it's not true. Many works are there where we don't want a men. So don't blame yourself. We all are equal. Don't underestimate yourself. You are far better than men.

Good luck finding the workmen that you need. We are enjoying sunshine today....no rain today. It's cold though. I think our temperature is hovering around 0°C/ 32°F.

Our temp is 42 F / 5 C. No I will not find a man for all those jobs at once, I will take it slow and get one thing at a time done. Roof first, it needs patched and floor after that.

@andriaperry our new roof was installed in September....now we need a plumber to do some rerouting of water lines as we insulate and finish the basement.
