Just Pay Processing

I get so irked at some of the mail order TV commercials on the tube. They tell you, "But wait, there's more. We will send you TWO of these for the price of one..." Just pay additional processing. Which, of course, is code for well, it's free kind of. I mean, we are adding it to your order and we are not charging you what we charged you for the initial item, but we are still charging you something for the additional item... But of course the cost of the two with the original fee and the added processing fee amount to exactly what they wanted to charge you for the two in the first place. And yet people fall for this hook, line, and sinker.

If you don't actually buy anything, you save 100%. They never point that out.

@JudyEv Exactly. And I tend not to buy anything off the TV. Worst case scenario several stores now carry this stuff labeled "As Seen On TV." If I REALLY want it, I can get it there.

@porwest True. I see that endcap at Wal-Mart every time I go to the checkout. I did buy one thing from there a year ago. I use it all the time.

If they didn't they wouldn't keep on doing it. I never buy anything off the TV anyway, so I guess it does not matter.

I ignore those commercials because I don't need more than one if I want that at all. I also see the extra shipping and postage for the additional order and consider it a waste of good hard-earned money. So, I don't take the bait on their hook, line, and sinker.

Me either. Besides, Menards has a whole section of "As Seen On TV," so if I REALLY want something I can just get it there and save on the extra processing, added items I don't need or want, and save on shipping too.

I never understand this. It is always for stuff that you don't need two of anyway.

No. It's not. If only there was a way to invest in some of these companies, but most of them are privately held.

Yes you are right. Sometimes it's a good deal but not the majority of time, especially this time of year.

Yeah, they make people think they are "Saving money". The only way to save money is to not buy the product in the first place, and definitely not get the second one free (Not free).
