So Do You Eat Bugs?

Thanks to @celticeagle , I was reminded of something I thought about sharing here. We went to Ohio over the weekend for a singles/marriage conference. Sat night we had a meal at the country club. At our table was a young lady from Thailand. She's lived in Ohio for a few years now. We got to discussing foods for she wasn't sure that she wanted to eat the prime rib that was still mooing. She talked about hot dog buns, which they use to put ice cream on so the ice cream doesn't melt too fast. She got in that topic because we were all eating the rolls with butter and she wanted ice cream to put on hers which we then questioned. She said they also enjoy eating bugs over there. I know that some people do eat bugs but I don't know whether she was pulling our leg for not.
Spotted in Bangkok at the Weekend Market: ice cream stuffed in a hot dog bun. Yay or nay? Or would it be better on a toasted bun?

They do indeed eat bugs but in China our guide told us the eat everything that has legs apart from the Kitchen table! How about this youtube video
In Thailand, eating bugs as snacks is a practice by some Thai. So on my Thailand trip I went in search of a bug cart to do a taste test of bug eating. Thanks...

Gross, gross, gross. No amount of onions and hot sauce would get me to purposely eat bugs even disguised ones, Gary.

@MarshaMusselman Some of the Filipino myLotters on this site showed that they fry and eat a big black bug, in my opinion it looks a lot like a cockroach.

@LadyDuck I've not seen those posts. I've eaten a big or two in my lifetime before but never on purpose. Like when riding a bike and having one fly in my mouth when riding in traffic. Sometimes they fly too far back to be able to spit them out easily

I knew it was common in other places too. That's why I wasn't overly surprised when she said they eat bugs.

You'd try it on a hot dog bun? It sounds like they put overall on breads to stop it from melting so fast since it's got there. That's mainly what the bubba are used for, I think. She wasn't familiar with putting butter on the bread

@celticeagle I'm sure that we'd do something similar. I don't need the extra calories if bread too.

I wouldn't try out bugs on purpose even if they were covered in chocolate.

The bugs there aren't much different than ones we have near out homes, Fredo. Are you thinking of trying some?

The picture on the video isn't bugs bite I've cream in a bun. Which it's it that looking good? That picture or presentations odd bugs you've been before? I wouldn't want to eat either of them but at least the ice cream would be edible and just throw out the bun. Or maybe they do just that, I didn't think to ask.
