The weather is cold. It is overcast. So I had no choice but to make a peach cobbler. Why not I said to myself. My Grandmother never needed a reason. I have her recipe. So I went for it. And guess what? It is delicious with a hot cup of coffee.
Easy peasy Grandmother recipe:
1/2 cup butter
• 1 cup self-rising flour
• 1 cup white sugar
• 1 cup milk
• 1 (16-29 ounce) can sliced peaches in heavy syrup
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
2. Place butter or margarine in an 8X8 glass baking dish. Place dish in oven until butter is melted.
3. In a medium bowl, combine flour and sugar. Mix well, then stir in milk. Spoon mixture into baking dish, on top of melted butter or margarine. Pour peaches and syrup over flour mixture.
4. Bake in preheated oven for 50 to 60 minutes, until peaches are bubbly and crust is lightly browned.
Have you treated yourself lately? Baking a dessert constitutes a treat in my world. Maybe a treat requires something else for you. Sharing is welcome. Cheers everyone. Hope you are enjoying your day.

You had me at "peach cobbler." I absolutely love a good one, but for some reason mine never seem to turn out good.

I make what I call apple crunch. Super easy. Sliced apples, I usually use the green granny smith apples, blend up almonds, pecans, and walnuts, add coconut oil. I layer the apples and nut mixture so it isn't all on top, and add a couple spoonfuls of coconut oil, cover with foil and bake for 90 minutes until apples are tender and bubbly.
It was my alternative to apple crisp since I can't have that on my diet. It's one of my favorite desserts.

I love that recipe, but nobody in my family likes peach cobbler except me.

Peach cobbler is so delicious!
I made a variation of an apple cobbler on Sunday.
I put some bisquick in a very small oven-safe dish and then some peeled and cut up apples with cinnamon mixed in and a little melted butter over top of it all.
It was so delicious served warm and a la mode.
My husband actually had a second helping!!!
