The gardener arrived.

He was so happy that I had a lawn mower until I told him that he was not here to cut grass. That we can do between Leticia and I. He has to cut ivy with big scissors he brought (I hope) and I lent him a ladder. We, girls, will not do men´s work any longer. He also wanted to do some pruning that we will not need. I, too, said that I´d do that if I wanted. My priority is to get rid of the excess ivy. Why is it that some people want to do other things and not what they are being paid for?

@marguicha so you don't want anyone else to do it, then why does the gardener come?

He is charging for his work so he must do what I want.

@DesirousDreamer I agree. I have had to stay away from many people that wanted to scam me just because I am a widow.

@marguicha People like money. It is like why a mechanic will fix everything on a car except the thing that you actually need fixed, only do that half-assed, and charge you so much for everything else.

I was firm. He will not spend the time I´m paying him to do things I can do.

Work description should be crystal clear before you make anyone start to work

I guess he was hoping for some 'easy' jobs.

Because they want to get away with doing the easiest work.

Some people want to do other things. I don't know why. You need patience.
