Things are getting back to normal in town, electricity-wise. My brother got his power back about 11 AM yesterday. I think the outages are small and sporadic now, but most of the ice storm electrical damage has been repaired. The weather is cool, but our hearts are always warm here! Here’s a major tourist attraction that I haven’t seen yet. #2: Waverly Hills Sanatorium And no, I have no intent of going there, either! Waverly Hills is nationally known....for being one of the most haunted places in America. There was an episode of Ghost Adventures filmed there. The primary source of income for the locale is based on paranormal activity: they host “ghost hunters,” give paranormal tours, and host one of the biggest “haunted houses” around. So what is Waverly Hills, and how’d it get so dang haunted? It began as a hospital for TB patients. And, if you don’t know, “back then” (1910 is when it opened as a TB hospital), a diagnosis of tuberculosis was a death sentence. It was also highly contagious, so Waverly Hills was, more or less, a leper colony. The only way out was in a coffin. With advances in medicine TB became controllable, and the sanatorium closed in 1961. The architecture is gorgeous, but most people go there for the ghosts. I’m not into that, so I won’t be planning a visit. If it’s something you’re into, however, plan in advance. It’s packed...and not just with ghosts! Here’s a clip of the Ghost Adeventures episode filmed at Waverly Hills:

I'll give it a miss thanks. Not really into ghosts, not real live ones anyway.
