I just walked at the mall, feel like a nap, and cheesy-riced cauliflower.

I rejoined planet fitness a few days ago, but walked at the mall today with a friend. We've walked on the street before and other years during the winter we've walked at the mall, but this is the first we walked again in over a year. I also cancelled my planet fitness membership last winter because I was concerned I might wound my wound by bumping it on the machines or something. Neither my husband not I get much exercise and now that I'm off work for a few months I decided it's time to get something going again We walked fairly slow since my heal is sore and I probably needed new shoes, but we got 3,000 steps in before stopping. My friends never been in a treadmill before and I've not gone to pf to cement my new membership so I went there before talking her home. I showed her around and we will go together soon, maybe next Monday or Tuesday. Maybe we can get more steps in it's my foot can handle it. Now I feel like a nap probably mostly because it's overcast and grey, but I would like to make another dent on the room I'm organizing and I'm getting hungry and may make Mexican. The riced cauliflower I had last night. Someone here talked about making Mac and cheese with noodles and work riced cauliflower recently, but I couldn't remember who that was to read it again. I used slices of Colby Jack cheese and some grated cheese too with a little more so it wouldn't burn. I began with a small amount to taste it and made the rest. It, the cauliflower, only had 4 carbs and 20 calories. Even with the cheese the carbs were still low. This morning though I was starving!! I will put some music on, work on supper and do some cleaning. Then later if needed I can take a little nap.

Yep, I made it two rounds around the whole mall in the inside of course. I walked with my cane just to make sure I didn't overdo it.

The wound isn't on my heel so the wound should be fine and I went slow to make sure. Now that I'm off work a while I don't want to get totally out of shape

I'm glad you can get out walking again. It sounds like the wound is healing. I'm finding I like riced cauliflower. It sounds good the way you made it.

Walking is good solid exercise.

It is. U can't say I'm back to walking more solidly yet but I wasn't too bad. When u was still at work my gait really got messed up from trying to minimize my foot hurting overmuch. You know, the whole over-compensating thing we tend to do. That's one of the main reasons I decided to go in short term disability right now tho ask least get back to walking correctly. And to be able to keep my foot elevated more often
