Starting to think about Christmas presents

I don't buy for tons of people--just my husband, my parents, my sister, her husband, and my niece and nephew. My husband takes care of his parents and his sister's son. I already bought my sister's present (an InstantPot) but that's it. I need to figure out what to get everyone else. My husband and my mom are the 2 most difficult ones and it is a double whammy for both because they have birthdays within days of Christmas so I have to come up with TWO presents for them at once. That is always tough. I normally don't start thinking about this stuff until after Thanksgiving but I want to get going with it a bit earlier this year. I may not buy anything until after Thanksgiving (waiting to see Black Friday sales) but I want to at least have it worked out in my mind what to get everyone. When do you start thinking about Christmas shopping? When do you actually start to shop?

I'll be thinking about presents at the beginning of December. I'll look and change my mind a dozen times before I buy anything then take a bunch back and change it before Christmas.

That's when I'll actually start doing the shopping. I need to start trying to figure out what to get people now though. My mother and husband are tough and I have to come up with two things for each.

@thislittlepennyearns I have no clue what to get my husband this year. Last year was easy with the Apple Watch. Apple didn't come out with anything new this year!

I saw this beautiful Starbucks coffee mug in glittery red very Christmassy color and I immediately knew who to give it to.

It depends on where I'm getting the gifts from, if I use wish I will start early because it takes awhile to get here, beside that I go shopping online after Thanksgiving.

That's a lot of folks to give presents to. My husband and I are on the path to thinking about what we're giving each other this year. We have started on our project of writing out nice things about each other- I've figured out 2 out of the five needed!

There are people who start thinking about Christmas presents (and even actually buy them) when the year starts. That's a bit crazy I think. Plus, people won't be able to return the gifts if they don't like them. While I don't celebrate Christmas, in my family we give gifts on New Years. I usually wait till close to New Years to look for stuff. That's not a good thing of course, 'cause I can end up with no gift for someone...

This year's Christmas, I planned to have a short list of kids we are going to give presents. We are in a very tight budget this year because I need to have some operations. And the only time we can go shop is next month because the boyfriend will be receiving his bonuses.

It's good to get a head start on the shopping sometimes! I usually start early in December. I have bought one gift already but I know it might take a month to get here so that's the only reason I did.
