Use The Right Words

I learned this from listening to the people I admire the most. How to use words that say it all. I was on someones butt about getting insurance he said "when they ask me why I have waited so long I tell them I have been trying no one will give it to me." I said " You Don`t Say That!" So he asked me how was he supposed to answer the question and I told him "The owner is requiring that I purchase insurance" and let it be. The waiting game from this morning, repairing the unknown damage : He called just minutes before the end of a business day, when I answered it was formal, announcing his name and he waited. I did not ask if I could get this done, I said "This is Andria and I wanted to know when we will get this started" then he gave me the schedule If .....If he would have declined I would have politely said thank you and let it go and moved on. Sometimes its all in how you say something. Do you listen to how things are said? Not just the tone but the words.

How you frame complaints or questions can make a huge difference to the response you get.

Yes, I listen and I think that it is more than important how you address to people, no matter if it's to ask questions or for a complain.

@andriaperry This is very true, screaming and being rude brings nowhere.

Yes, I agree. Words to use when speaking to someone you don't know should be carefully chosen. That's because you don't know if that person is a sensitive one or an amiable person who can take any words as long as they are not those bad words.

I always listen to both the tone and the words. At times they match perfectly and things work out and at times the tone has been off or the words don't quite match and then I know I am in for a rough time.

One thing I have learned is that you should not give more information than is necessary. Kind of like the very formal discussion you had at the end of the day. My sister and my husband drive me up the wall. Hubby always has a joke or a story to tell, whether people want to hear it or not. My sister runs her mouth like a motor. Her kids always made sure she knew nothing about their lives, because she would share it with any stranger she meets in the road.
