Ten Favorite 1986 Albums: Love & Hope & Sex & Dreams (#1)

Happy Thanksgiving, America! Here's hoping you count your blessings today. Remember how richly blessed this nation is!
Last week I started a countdown of my favorite albums from 1986 after reading that @miketagz was born in 1986. Maybe one day I should do my favorite albums from the year I was born....but they still had 78s then! 
Just kidding. Here's my favorite 1986 album....again, to nobody's surprise.
#1: Love & Hope & Sex & Dreams - BoDeans
An album that hit me light a thunderbolt (how badly? I road tripped to see these guys over 100 times!) still resonates with me. Roots rock, Americana, stripped down rock & roll....whatever you want to call it. The BoDeans' debut album was a masterpiece.
Combining the smooth singing of Kurt Neumann and the, well, different lead vocals of Sam Llanas, the BoDeans brought some major harmony back. I think that's one of the reasons I loved them so much: it was like the Everly Brothers (where one of them had a cold).
The BoDeans never matched this album. They began falling apart in the 90s, suing their former manager. Eventually original bassist Bob Griffin and co-founder Sam Llanas left, leaving only Neumann to carry on the band's name.
But, oh, what a mark they left on me and on music with this gem.
