A Misty Morning

Winter is officially here and has been around for the past week. Misty mornings greet us as we peep out from beneath the quilts. The sun comes up later and is mild and perfect for basking in it and eating oranges. It is also the picnic season and on weekends all sorts of vehicles are seen making their way out of the city for a day of fun. Warm garments are making a brisk sale at the market as winter wardrobes are being replenished The weather conditions are perfect for the annual flowers like , phlox pansy,, chrysanthemum, poppy, cornflower...List is endless...Those with gardens enjoy a riot of colours for the next 3 months. Time for woodstoves to be dug out. And for potatoes, brinjals and fish to be roasted o er them. Every season has its time and for winter it is now.

The only flowers still blooming here are pansies, chrysanthemum and violets, I still have some potted roses in bloom, but they are in a big vase in a protected area of the garden.

Your flowers travel here to escape your severe winters and will go back to you all ( I always like to believe it is @Jabos flowers who make the journey...Now I will.imagine they are accompanied by @LadyDuck 's flowers) once our harsh summer starts

@responsiveme Good for you. If I eat too many oranges I break out in hives.

I will be honest Missouri scared me when winter hit. Dark and people changed into their bad selves. Teachers were not even nice.

I guess that is because your winters are so severe...Ours is not. I see that two discussions under this name has been posted.First one showed run time error .So I wrote again . Will delete and edit. Sorry for the trouble Also winter is not dark...The sun does come up.and mild enough to bask in it

@responsiveme No trouble here, good perspective thought though. I always knew we were the meanest people in all the world.

Mild winters are a lovely relief from the harsh summers.. And the garden is colorful too. My begonias are looking awesome.

You said it do correctly...It's the summer that is so harsh here. That's why we enjoy the winters. I loved the flowers that filled my garden when I had one during with yet. In summer it is more a question of keeping it clean and neat because of the overgrowth and snakes

Your winter sounds much better than ours. Here, it gets bitter cold, snows, ices, and there are bare trees and no flowers.
