In London we have thousands of snatch thefts by young men on mopeds.The guys tend to be from ethnic minority gangs and target the expensive phones and bags of white and South East Asian people ( tourists students and workers) in London's busy streets, speeding off on the bikes with the booty. The police lost control of the situation as it reached 50,000 snatches a year. by a relatively small group of gangs. Yes, 50,000! It got worse when a small few of these lads used acid in the attacks , mostly against gig economy guys delivering fast food on their mopeds so carrying cash on them. The police, under resourced and unable to chase these guys because the lads would take off their helmet to deter chases, and restricted because of racial conflict over the yeas, have finally grown a pair and taken a more direct method to stop these thugs. The are ramming the lads off the bikes. So far they have unseated 67 moped riders at lower speeds. No one has been killed or seriously injured and the moped crimes have fallen 33% in 6 months. Yesterday we had a TV documentary about the new police tactics and the main news channels picked it up and now all the left wing commentators and news media are angry the cops are being proactive. But its these people in the media who work in London who are being robbed ??. Sometimes you need to support the police and just let them get on with protecting you!!!!!
