Another doctor's visit today

I go to the doctor so rarely that I don’t regard myself as having a family doctor. If an official form calls for it, I usually put the name of the practice. However I went to the doctor to have my ears checked last week and now I need to go again. For some time now my eye has been ‘weeping’ from time to time but it usually comes better without any treatment. However this time it has been gummed up and weeping for a while so it’s probably time to have someone look at it. Do you find that once you go to a doctor, you never get away with one visit but need another soon after the first? I hope it’s not going to be one of those things that happen in threes. The photo is of a Christmas tree. It's a form of parasite and only blooms around Christmas time.

I'm very sorry to hear about your eye, and hope it's nothing more that some drops can fix. I go to the doctor for regular checkups twice a year. I really try to be proactive about my health.

I'm sure it's a good idea to go to the doctor regularly. I might need to start doing that.

I'm sure it's just a blocked duct or something similar.

I don't need to go back unless there is no improvement. I have drops now so it should be better in a day or two.

We are obliged to have a "family doctor" because he always must ask to him before going to see a specialist. We pay less using this formula. I am sorry about your eyes, I hope it's only an allergy. I agree with you about doctors, once you start to go you immediately need another.

@JudyEv I am glad it's nothing serious. I need drops for my eyes every day. I have to go to get a new box at the pharmacy, the doctor prescription lasts 1 year, I still have 1 week, then I need to see my doctor again to renew.

We need referrals too before we can see a specialist. I have drops for my eyes now and it is nothing serious.

Very interesting that you mentioned a problem with your eye, as I am having a very similar problem. I called my doctor today to make an appointment to have my eye checked out. It seems as though I may have an infection that will require antibiotics to treat.

@JudyEv Yes, mine too. I thought maybe it was just a little infection that would go away quickly, but it doesn't seem to be the case.

@moffittjc It seems mine is an infection which usually cures itself. I have over-the-counter drops for it. Didn't even need a prescription. I hope yours is as easily treated.

I was hoping someone would ask that as I can now direct you to a post I wrote in 2016 about the tree which is actually a root hemiparasitic. It attaches to the root system of other plants. I'll add the link in case you want to read more about it:

I have the same eye problem. One of the tests that the doctor did yesterday was to ensure that my tear ducts were not clogged. They were fine, so now we are proceeding to the eyelid thingie. According to the doctor, I will need an eyelid procedure to stop my tears to come out when there´s nothing to cry about

I am awed by your Christmas tree, it is gorgeous, parasite sounds strange for something that pretty. Your eyes are important so no matter how many times you have to see your eye doctor - do it.... Here in Canada going to the doctor is easy because it free...
